Our make-up products are manufactured in accordance with European Regulation 1223/2009, which prohibits testing on animals both raw materials used and finished cosmetic products. In particular, it has not been possible to test finished cosmetic products on animals since 11 September 2004. Since 11 March 2009, the sale of cosmetics tested on animals and cosmetics containing ingredients tested on animals has been prohibited, with the exception of limited exceptions allowed until 2013 for safety assessments of particularly complex ingredients.
However, it is important to point out that the cosmetics industry, many years before the introduction of these bans, voluntarily abandoned animal testing and engaged in the search for alternative methods, culminating in the validation of some of these: For decades, in fact, the safety of cosmetics has been evaluated through methodologies and skills that guarantee the consumer without recourse to animal testing.
